I'm actively seeking representation on some of my latest fashion designs. There are several options that I'll consider:
- You could purchase an extended license through iStockPhoto for these designs
- You can contact me to discuss terms of a buyout on any of these designs.
- You could agree to provide representation for marketing any [or all] of these pieces.
I'm throwing this out to anyone any where who has purchased greeting cards from Zazzle and Cafe Press. Which company do you think makes a higher quality product?
Purpose:
I have a special request from some one who is not a current client.
They are interested in purchasing cards and want an option that they can have available online if they decide to reorder.
We agreed on a price for the first batch which will include an upcharge for editing the design to their specs.
They agreed to pay the shipping and handling. No issues there.
I uploaded the new design it to both Cafe Press and Zazzle and here's how it plays out:
- Cafe Press only allows a print to be added to the front and inside right of the card
Zazzle allows a full inside spread.
- Cafe Press charges a base price of $14.99 for a pack of 10 cards
Zazzle's 10 card pack is $22.00 with my discount
- Cafe Press charges $5.00 for shipping
Zazzle charges $5.99
Considerations:
At this point it is a matter of quality. The customer is happy with either option and has told me to decide which was better.
I haven't ordered greeting cards for myself from either place for quite some time and I know both companies have gone through dramatic changes in production, quality or products, etc.
So who do you think does it better?
If you have a reason it's even better.
Thanks in advance kiddies.
More soon...

Seriously though...
I'd like to congratulate Kenn on his win in Zazzle's Fake Mascot Contest.
Awesome stuff, dood. What can I tell you. I'm overwhelmingly impressed and [now] inspired.
And for those of you who are now curious and/or imbued with the spirit...
You'll be interested to know that Zazzle is running another contest and a very interesting one at that. Talk Like a Pirate Day.... Check it out.
And his infectious enthusiasm naturally drug me into the fray
This shirt is my entry and [doncha know] it got selected for inclusion into the Today's Best collection.
This bodes well for me - I hope. There's $1000.00 at stake so - if you really love me - help a girl out and throw her a few stars and/or comments [please - I'm almost begging - see]

Don't forget...
Entries to this contest are now being accepted until midnight on Monday, April 30, 2007 EDST.
Please be sure that you read all of the rules, regulations and requirements. I need all of this info in order to actually create the prize for the winner and I don't want to have to track anyone down at the end of the contest.
Any - and all - incomplete entries will be discarded
This is just too good to pass up, boys and girls!
Zazzle Custom Stamps (with a denomination of $0.41) are now on sale, April 5, 2007 at 9:00pm PST through April 9, 2007 at 12:00pm PST, for $9.99. There are 20/sheet. That's just $1.79 over retail! WoooooHooo.
My client in Pittsburgh is so excited about the installation and this, in turn, has me jazzed, caffienated, carbonated, and so stoke/stoned over the top that you cannot imagine.
The archival, canvas print is due to arrive this coming Thursday and the finished work will be installed at their location shortly thereafter. During our discussion on scheduling the event, I just happened to mention another one of my pieces that I thought might be of interest. They loved it. In fact, they went gonzo over her and asked if I would mind customizing her for color and POV.
Do I mind?
Heavens no.
That is what I do.
So I set about the customization, emailed a few comp versions, and this is what has been settled on: A 24" wide by 48" high archival print, on matte paper with UV protection, that will be accordian pleated and hand-crafted into another window shade for the entry way.
As if this client has not already done enough to show support of my work, they even went so far as to recommend me to a very good friend of theirs. It was put to me this way, "A very good friend of mine is absolutely in love with what you are creating for us. She doesn't know what she wants yet but she said she must have something. I told her how you work - that she should think about it and then let you put your own artistic spin to it"...
Oh. So sweet.
Someone, please, fasten my feet to the ground.
With both pieces being shipped here for final crafting, the timing is going to be way tight. I'll get it done though. I always do. Of course, you can expect photos of the finished pieces, installed at their location.
Digital (archival) print on canvas. 52" W x 38" H.
Currently in production to be worked and hand-crafted into a Roman Shade.
This installation is for a private collector in Pittsburgh, PA. The top photo at left is the mock-up that was sent to the client.
They're stoked. I'm stoked.
Even the printer is intrigued by this project and wants to see photos of the finished work/installation. He mentioned that they might like to do a feature or promotion on it.
It doesn't get much better than that, boys and girls.
WooHoooooooo
