Since I've been spending so much time with medical personnel, I thought it only fitting that this collection of fashion/production flats become part of my library on iStock.
Just paste your fabic, your patterns, logos and other graphic elements into the bodies and you are ready to assemble your presentation boards and line sheets.
The medical staff croquis are also available and are just as willing to be customized to reflect your fabric deisgns, logs, placed prints, etc.
Funny: I was shocked at how few vector offerings of medical personnel were available on iStock. Especially since health and medicine are such huge topics in today's society. Think about it.
Anyway: I have abunch of stuff piled up around me that I'm trying to get finished. I'll be back.
This young coed, hand-drawn in illustrator, is all but unraveled by her lack of a fashionable wardrobe for going back to school. Wistful, she's dreaming of being dressed in your latest designs and just waiting to be put to work on your fall line sheets and presentation boards. http://www.istockphoto.com/file_closeup.php?id=4265110
This young woman, hand-drawn in illustrator, is all but unraveled by her lack of a fashionable wardrobe for the fall season. Foward and determined, she's ready to be customized and put to work. http://www.istockphoto.com/file_closeup.php?id=4270848
This young woman, hand-drawn in illustrator, is all but unraveled by her lack of a fashionable wardrobe for Halloween. Foward and determined, undaunted by things that go bump in the night, she's ready to be customized and put to work. http://www.istockphoto.com/file_closeup.php?id=4270187
This young woman, hand-drawn in illustrator, is all wrapped up in the post-holiday celebrations. I'm not sure if she's had one too many martinis or if she's just overwhlemed with all of the holiday parties but, either way, she seems tangled up in the festivities and just waiting to be put to work.
This illustration is pending approval at iStockPhoto. Please feel free to contact me directly if you would like to put her to work before she is made available.
1 Part fashion illustration combined with 1 part holiday frustration. Created with the aid of Adobe Illustrator for possible use as a holiday card.
This is rights-managed illustration. As a vector it is completely editable and infinitely scalable. Please contact me for pricing and options for use.
You can see this design on a variety of products at Zazzle.com. The mousepad design was counted among today's best within minutes of being uploaded.
Of course I'm still vying for votes, stars and comments in Zazzle's Talk Like a Pirate Contest. So [please] do a girl a favor and help me out. You can view my design here.
I've also taken on the part time postiion of being Kenn's campaign manager so a nod in his direction will only make me look good.
Yes. I just uploaded a bunch of stuff to my iStock portfolio.
These girls are in the mix
No doubt I'm going to feminist hell for this. But that's okay.
The wench was there yesterday
The varsity squad was there first. Obviously the wench butted the line.
Oh and we've got flats too >
For every body but the Naughty Nursie. eGADS!!! I have to do those yet.
Done
Add to that, my ever present caveat:
The fashion flats and croquis, contained in my portfolio, are of my own design and are drawn by hand directly in Illustrator. A sizing grid, similar to a piece of grid paper, is employed to make sure that the flats conform to industry standards. No templates, sketches, or other source material is ever utilized in the creation of my fashion flats or designs.
And now it's all up to the inspectors...
I noticed the queue's been released / revived / reinstalled so it shouldn't be too terribly long. At least I hope not. *g*

Kenn's in too and a nod in his direction certainly couldn't hurt.

As you may remember from my post on Friday, I happily hit Silver rating at iStock on Thursday. As I also made note: That's no small thing when you have a portfolio of only 61 offerings and I am absolutely stoked. Uploading was kind of a chore with the server speed still being somewhat retarded. But they're there and they're awaiting approval.
Here are some samples of what I uploaded to round up my portfolio to 65 files.
And here's the Pirate Wench
All dressed up with no place to go...
So I have my fingers crossed that the girls and their wardrobe, as well as the varsity wear, will all be good to go before to long. Just wish me luck, Peeps. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...
I'm so happy that Kim likes the photos of her skirt and I'm really excited about getting it in the mail to her. I'm taking it down to the PO this morning and sending it Priority Mail so, hopefully, it will arrive by Saturday.
In my conversation with her last night, Kim asked me what I thought she could wear this skirt with. My immediate response was, "Oh. I'd wear it with a black tank!" But then I thought that it's really more versatile than that. So here are Kim's croquis with some fashion ideas.
- A light pink, girlie tank
- A fitted digi-camo tank
- A lightweight, fitted black tee
- And for a more business casual look, a lightweight summer sweater, in white.
All of them could be worn tucked, or not, depending on your mood. You could also top any with a classic denim jacket or a charcoal gray [or black] shrug.
Sandy's skirt from last month's Skirting the Issue Contest is on its way. I dropped it off at the Post Office early this afternoon and expect it to arrive in Australia in 5-6 business days. Interestingly enough, it costs $30.00 less to ship with USPS than it did with FedEx and neither could "guarantee" delivery but the USPS offers insurance up to $61.28 and neither FedEx nor UPS would offer any insurance whatsoever. Boggles the mind - Indeed, it does. What's even more mysterious is the time frame: 5-6 business days regardless of the carrier. Go figure...
So, with Sandy's skirt well on the way, I'd like to let everyone know where we are in the Conga line that we started forming yesterday and find out who in the line wants coffee on their skirt. It's so much better if I get all of the fabric into the drink now so I can stain as needed. Afterall, the longer it steeps the stronger the brew. ;)
Cate's got dibs on the first skirt. I've messaged her and am waiting to get final confirmation on her measurements, etc. Then I'll be able to work up sketches and so on.
Kim has second dibs.
Rouma is next in line.
And she is followed by DissolveGirl.
Jaie is following close behind.
Time Frame
Each skirt takes me 7 - 10 days to complete. It may be a bit less depending on my work load but I'll keep you posted as always.
Thanks to everyone who has followed along and made such wonderful comments about Sandy's Prize from the first Skirting the Issue Contest. I really appeciate it and find it encouraging me to persue and further develop this line of custom created, sustainable fashions.
As luck would have it, I already have one more coffee-stained tee and I would like to offer you, any of my friends, first dibs on a design.
I wouldn't feel right if I had to pick one of you so you have to decide by comments [like whoever calls dibs first].
Particulars
If you already sent me your specs and stuff for the contest - no worries - I have all of that. If not, you need to send me your specs [waist, hip, and preferred length] if you get dibs.
I'd also like to give you a choice. Choose an unpainted skirt, sewn from this coffee stained tee and any others as might needed. Choose your style and I will sew it to your specs for half price: $25.00 USD.
If you'd like a hand-painted skirt - No worries. Choose your style. Choose your art [within reason, please] and your skirt will be sewn and painted to suit your color choices. Cost: Half-price would be $62.50 so let's say... $50.00 USD
I'm throwing shipping into the pot too. But, if you're over seas, we'll have to split it. You choose the carrier [UPS or FedEx].
We'll start the design process with sketches, just like before, and will begin the process once payment is received. My PayPal addy, for whoever gets dibs, is studio_524@yahoo.com
This skirt was especially created for sandybot, the winner in last month's Skirting the Issue Contest. The lightweight roll top slouches and rolls easily allowing for a very comfy fit and it measures about 16" allowing this skirt additional possibilities of being worn as a dress.
At this point the painting is drying. I'll be curing it in the dryer and then ironing it to finally set the design before wash-testing.
Final pics once the skirt is dry and wash-tested so stay tuned.

Here is the skirt, sewn for Sandybot, winner in the Skirting the Issue Contest, shown flat and on the body form. It measures 13" long and has a very generous roll top for easy slouching. Normally I would provide the flat measurements at this point but, in this case, I am holding that information private between she and I. Tomorrow her skirt will get painted according to plan and it will ship by Friday.
I'll be posting more pics once the skirt is finished so stay tuned.
