Vox Hunt: Happy Halloween

Wowza! The man you love... what a great costume!

Thanks, Terri. I wasn't loving him so much last night when he phoned on his way home from the office and told me he needed a costume because they were strongly encouraging all of their employees to have fun and embrace the day.

We'll after spending 2 hours in WalMart this is what we came up with. Mask, Wig, Nightie, Tights and [size 12] Sneakers. The walking stick is a hand-carved thing from the 70's and quite a find if you're into Totems and American Indian inspired art. the rest of his garb is [pretty much] a collection of my cast offs that had been collected in a box in the basement for no particularly good reason. Anyway - It's all for the good. He's having a ton of fun and [maybe] a bit too much.

LOL... well he sure is "embracing the holiday"
I'm loving the pins, clips, and dangles... so creative :)
He's got crap in that bag the likes of which you would not believe. Broken watches, bottle caps, a ton of promo crap from various insurance companies that they represent, some kind of dried flower buds, a jar of dryer lint, and I don't know what else. He's planning on handing all of this crap out to the employees as treats. O-M-G
OMG, thats brilliant... they are going to love it! I'd crack up laughing if someone gave me dryer lint and insurance pamphlets. :)
[this is good]
That's a fantastic costume, he really embraced the spirit of Halloween. Love the mask!
Thanks so much, Lilia! I just wish I were half the photographer that you are.

ROFLMAO brilliant!
I will share your vote of confidence with DC. I'm actually excited to hear all about how his day went and if anyone was really able to guess that it was him. There's a lot of padding in that there bra. Yes, ma'am.
[this is good]
wow great costume. it isn't suprising he made "hag of the month" *grin*
rofl - thanks, Rouma. It was fun dressing him up and then watching him accessorize himself. Such a slave to fashion, this one. OMG.
Awesome costume!!!! Your doing mine next year!
Oh. But of course. Come hither and be dressed.
FYI: I'm thinking of investing in some special effects makeup. Then we'll be able to dispense with the rubber mask. We'll see though. The stuff's pricey and I have to find another use for it besides Halloween. You don't have any allergies to latex do you? Oh. wait. Look who I'm asking. Of course you don't. ;)
Nope, my rubber undies never leave a rash. But I get a little giddy when I wear them on my head.

kind of like Dennis Hopper suckin up the joy juice in Blue Velvet, huh?

SPOOKY :)
Thanks Kim. A lot of people apparently thought so. Really: I don't get most of the reactions that DC said he got. People were backing away from him - even other people in costume. Personally, if I walked into any place of business and saw someone in a get up like this -- especially on Halloween -- I'd think it hilarious. According to DC most of the reactions he got were more in line with sincere wariness, trepidation, and fear. On a positive note, he did win 2nd place in his office Halloween Costume Contest. He was beat out by a nun. Of course, as a principal, he declined the actual monetary prize but kept the ribbon.
[this is good]

Hey, I went as a nun too! I have no idea how that beat his get up - what a fantastic idea!

I love the fact that his company embraces the day. It's sad that most grown-ups are forced shut themselves off from fun. Most of the staff where I work dressed up, but most of the professors didn't - and I overheard one of them saying "You can't go around looking like students!" Why the heck not? Maybe they'll relate to you better.

I then got into a heated discussion with Tom about how he couldn't go into work dressed up because he's with clients all day... how inappropriate. I say let the clients get over it - share a few laughs and maybe you'd lift some tension off of yourselves. Geez.

I agree with you, Hops. Please tell Tom that Don's an insurance executive, a principal in a brokerage that is third largest in the area. He is also the VP of commercial lines and his clients are all business professionals.

Intent on bringing an element of fun into his relationships with some of this long time clients, he made it a point to call upon them and they LOVED it.

Sometimes a bit of personality and fun goes a long way in cementing the bonds that form in business relationships.

That's brillant! He looks amazing. Too funny....I love Halloween! It brings out the child in us all. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Margaux. I thought it was great [especially on such short notice]
