For Cranky: I feel some yard art coming on...
I'm thinking that a plywood cutout [aka: Yard art] would be a great way to help deter the nasty little snipes from invading cranky's space.
So imagine, if you will, the hand being cut from plywood. The face as well.
A chain dangles from the fingers and tethers the head as shown in the illustration,
Not too creepy. Very urban. And bound to keep the kiddies off of your property for a good 5-10 years
Look at my stuff. You know how I paint eyes. They're very intense.
Anyway...
The entire thing is painted and sealed in acrylic.
I have quite a few of these around and they are virtually indestructable.
It stands by being staked and is given additional support by a metal rod that runs up the back of the piece.
Say hello to Grimalkin:
Grimalkin was created as a kid-friendly piece and graces a garden in a mostly rural area just outside of Doylestown, PA. He is approximatedly 6' high and about 3' wide. The bell rings and his streamers twist and twirl in the breeze.

yep. you got the right idea.
now go take a rest.
*mwah*
LMAO! that's great! I was expecting it to be the skull key like Yod's! ;-)
I have a feeling it might just ATTRACT more kiddies to the yard. Could you paint some blood on there? (BTW--I did get this design in a greeting card, so I do really loves it!)
How about heads on stakes like Apocolypse now? Baby doll heads on stakes lining my walkway! OH YES!!!!!
The neighbors would really love me...
LOVE the Grimalkin!
Wow - You bought one of my cards!! Thanks, CP. That was really nice. I'm so happy to hear that you loves her.
You can do the doll heads on stakes yourself and it shouldn't cost much. Go to the trhift store. Buy a doll. Rip the head off and fasten it on a piece of rebar. One head-ona-stick should do you good. Hey -- You could poke out their eyes and light 'em up too. Woooohoohooo....
Grimalkin was a commissioned piece. He's actually staked into the ground on a wooden post. As far as I know the kids that received him are still loving him but I do believe he is given shelter in the winter. This was 3-4 years ago and he has not come back from repainting.
Yep, I got a couple of magnets too. (time management, heh)
I could do the doll head thing and stick it in my bushes so it's kind of hidden. and under my tree too to give them a real fright if they venture under there.
I like that. Do it and post pics. You have to.
