I voted!!!

Looks like most people just put some peeps in a toy playset and took a photo. How drabbly!!
Thanks, Jay! A lot of people in the Bethlehem art contest did similar things as well. I don't get that but - hey - how much can you do with Peeps.
crazy girls! Not you Jay :D I'm referring to the peeps.

:-D :-D :-D

Thanks, Mari

This really shows off how creative you are, Haze. It's a very impressive piece. And that's coming from someone who loathes peeps with the fire of a thousand suns.
Heh-heh, Kirk. Thanks. This little project took so long to accomplish. It started out on a whim for a local Peep art contest and look what it's turned into. Speaking of lathing the Peeps try gluing 330 of their icky sticky heads to a tee shirt skirt. OMG. If I ever see another one...

I voted for you! Yours was the most complex, artistic and colorful of all the submissions. How long did it take you to put this piece together?
I mean, from thinking up the design to gathering up the number of peeps you needed to assembly and the final project? It would have taken me a month just to assemble it, I think. Then again, your so talented and skilled that it was probably really easy for you. I can imagine how messy this must have been. Peeps always start melting (at least the color and their shape) in my hands. I would have ended up with a messy blob.

Thanks, EnSue! For the votes and everything. It took about a week to finish and [believe me] it drove me crazy.

This project started as an entry into a local art contest. It's sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Bethlehem Association and Just Born [the makers of Peeps]. My husband, being a member of the Chamber, got a bulletin in email and forwarded it to me with a note that he thought it would be a great promotion. That was on the 7th. The deadline for entries to the local contest was the 15th and all of the entries are to have been placed in various windows of downtown merchants. We've had so much rain and wind I haven't had a chance [or the inclination] to follow up on it but it's on my list of things to do today.

Anyway: I was on the phone with a good friend of mine when I got DC's email and I was like OMG - so what the hell am I supposed to do for this and she immediately came up with the idea of a skirt - the kind with the funky flowers. Yeah - And I could put my label on it and all of that.

So it was a long drawn out process putting this thing together. The skirt was an easy design to sew but I could only apply the Peeps in one section at a time. Elmer's glue is the best thing to use for Peeps because it melts the marshmallow a bit. But it's wet and takes about 12-18 hours to dry. So yeah... It was one icky-sticky mess.

Think about the Fish Head song and then let this roll around in your head

Peep heads. Peep heads
Icky-sticky goo.
Peep heads. Peep heads.
They always stick to you.

Yeah. It was like that.

LeendaDll brought up the CoffeeTalking contest so I did. That was the easy part.

oh pewp, this is the post I missed. sorry :(
